You Were A Stillborn Child
December 3, 2006 by Peter Schellhase
You were a stillborn child
But when I passed by I saw you
Field-born, outcast child
Aborted, abhorred, forsaken
Lying in your blood
And I said, Live, my child!
Wallowing in your blood
You heard the words of life.
You were at the time for love
And when I passed by I took you
And washed away your filth
And covered you with my robe
The bloody, blood-born
The filthy, blood-washed
Clean, holy, and blameless
You see the Word of life.
